Two Nipomo High School seniors won scholarship money with their research papers which focus on issues facing Nipomo today in terms of growth and conservation.
David Gonzalez's essay entitled Development in the Nipomo Region focused on the need for planning and incorporation, along with conservaton and preservaton, to keep the rural qualities in check as development continues.
Nicholas Thompson-Stern's essay called Growing and Growing describes the history of the growth and population explosion we've seen in the past 10 years and empahsizes the importance of staying informed and speaking out to keep the community involved. These winners will be honored at the next general Save the Mesa meeting on June 16. Δ
